Tools and Materials Needed

  • Scopema swivel seat base

  • Socket wrench

  • Torx bit set (M6 or M8, depending on your bolts)

  • Pliers

  • Rag or cloth (to cover battery terminal)

Step 1: Disconnect the Vehicle Battery

Before starting, it's crucial to disconnect the battery to prevent accidental airbag deployment when removing the seat. To do this:

  1. Locate the negative battery terminal under the driver-side floorboard.

  2. Push the gray lever forward to release the connection.

  3. Slide the terminal off and cover it with a rag to prevent accidental contact.

  4. Disconnect the wires beneath the seat that are connected to the air bags.

Step 2: Remove the Seat Bolts

The seat is secured with six bolts that need to be removed:

  1. Slide the seat forward to access the rear bolts and remove them using a socket wrench.

  2. Slide the seat backward to access the front bolts and remove them.

  3. Disconnect the seat wiring harness (airbag and sensor connections) by unplugging the yellow, orange, and black connectors underneath the seat.

  4. Lift the seat off the base and set it aside.

Step 3: Install the Swivel Seat Base

  1. Position the Scopema swivel base on top of the seat mounting platform, ensuring that the red handle is positioned between the driver and passenger seats.

  2. Align the swivel base holes with the mounting points.

  3. Secure the swivel base using the original seat bolts, tightening them appropriately but not overtightening, as it may affect swivel functionality.

  4. Rotate the swivel base to confirm smooth movement before proceeding.

Step 4: Reinstall the Seat

  1. Place the seat onto the swivel base, aligning it with the mounting holes.

  2. Use the provided bolts to secure the seat to the swivel base.

  3. Reconnect the seat wiring harness, ensuring all connectors are properly attached.

  4. Reconnect the vehicle’s battery, being mindful that a small spark may occur—this is normal.

Step 5: Test the Swivel Function

  1. Pull the red handle to unlock the swivel mechanism.

  2. Rotate the seat to ensure it moves freely and locks into place correctly.

  3. Check for any obstructions or resistance when swiveling.
